This morning we will be driving to Tyrol. Our route will take us through Inntal, the beautiful valley which stretches through Switzerland, Austria and Germany for over 517 kilometres, following the path of the River Inn. We will arrive at your hotel in the Inntal region in time for lunch. This afternoon you will meet your tour guide who will give you a brief overview of the wonderful tour that lies ahead, and answer any questions you may have.
There will be some time for you to explore the local area before we meet for welcome drinks, traditional Tyrolean music and dinner at your hotel ***

After enjoying a hearty breakfast at your hotel you will depart with your tour guide in the direction of Innsbruck, the capital of the Tyrol. This morning you have a choice of two activities:
1. You can join a thrilling exclusive DaCapo Scenic Flight over the Alps, enjoying an aerial perspective of the towering snow-capped peaks. This unforgettable optional extra (which needs to be booked ahead of time) could well be the highlight of your tour. More information about the DaCapo exclusive flights you can find here.
2. If you prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground you can visit the most impressive Abbey of Stams (Stift Stams). The Abbey is a masterful example of Baroque architecture and features a newly-renovated Orangery, a museum, monastery and distillery.
After your morning activity we will stop for lunch close to Innsbruck.
After lunch you can enjoy a fascinating guided city tour of Innsbruck. Some of the city highlights include the medieval Old Town, the Imperial Palace, the Golden Roof and the Ferdinandeum Tyrolean State Museum.
In the late afternoon you will return to your hotel where a delightful dinner and Tyrolean evening awaits you.

Today you will set off to explore the very beautiful area around the Achensee Lake with your tour guide. We drive in the direction of the lake, stopping in the quaint little village of Pertisau which appears to be cradled between towering mountains and the azure waters of Lake Achensee. You will have some free time to stroll around the lake shore or stop off for a cup of coffee.
If you prefer you can visit the very interesting Shale Oil Museum where you can learn all about the history of the “Black Gold of the Achensee” using a modern inter-active audio system. (Entrance to the museum is not included in your tour).
Today lunch is for your personal account so you can choose where you would like to eat. There are several good restaurants in Pertisau.
We suggest that you spend your afternoon taking a scenic cruise on the lake (not included in the tour). If you prefer you can go walking or hiking in the beautiful forests which surround the village or take a ride on the Karwendel Cable Car for spectacular views over Lake Achensee and the surrounding landscape.
You will be returned to your hotel in the late afternoon.

It is day four and your last day in Tyrol; we have a wonderful day planned for you.
After breakfast at your hotel you will set off with your tour guide towards the Alpbachtal / Wildschönau (Alpbach Valley) region, one of the largest skiing areas in Tyrol. The pretty town of Alpbach is widely regarded as being one of the most beautiful towns in Austria. On arrival you will enjoy a scenic ride up the mountain by cable car. Once you reach the top there is a short walk to the panoramic lookout point and restaurant where you will have lunch. There is some free time to enjoy the wonderful vistas.
After your mountain-top lunch you will be returned to your hotel where you have the rest of the afternoon at leisure.
If you would like to step back in time and enjoy a wonderful underground adventure you can visit the Silver Mine in Schwaz. Your Silver Mine adventure includes a miniature train ride deep into the bowels of the mine to see some of the tunnels which led ancient miners to the precious metal way back in the 1500’s. (Entrance to the Silver Mine is not included in your tour).
This evening you will enjoy a farewell dinner with musical accompaniment at your hotel.
Sadly, all good things come to an end. Today your will depart Tyrol and make your way back home after breakfast.
